Hey everyone! I currently have a GT Premium ordered, with a VIN, and an estimated build week of 12/15 (according to paperwork my dealer showed me, COTUS still doesn't have one listed). I have the adaptive cruise control ordered, but I would like to drop it as I didn't know it changes the front lower grille, and I don't particularly care for the look. Does anyone know if and when it is possible to make changes to an order? My dealer said he wasn't sure if it was possible at this point.

Thanks in advance for the help!

once you have a VIN, you can not make any changes.
That is not true. You can change certain things until you have a Window Sticker according to my dealer. You can't change anything that is identifiable by the VIN i.e. Manual to Automatic, Ecoboost to V8. I was able to make a change from Black to Magnetic but I did it pretty early after my order (I had already received my VIN but no Window Sticker). YMMV.

How long after the initial order date is the VIN assigned?

Even if a VIN has been assigned, you can make changes to the order up until the time the order is "locked in." Once it is locked in, then no changes are possible and a whole new car would have to be ordered.
