Hello

So I wanted to ask....would GT350 Calipers (front and rear) be an improvement over base GT Calipers using base GT rotors?

Would they also be an improvemnt over PP GT Calipers?

Or would it be no big improvement unless the rotors are also upgraded?

Now and then I see GT350 Calipers pop up on the forum for sale and wonder if they would be worth it.

I have GT350 Oem Wheels and assume fitment would not be an issue.

One more question...would GT350 rotors work on base GT?

Thanks everybody

GT350 discs only work with Gt350 calipers

They are a huge upgrade from a base GT.

The fronts are not worth it imo if you have a PP GT.

The wheels should clear no problem

If I were in your shoes I'd get the front and rear GT350 brakes.

If I had the GT PP I'd do two piece AP discs in the front and use GT350 rear brakes out back

Thanks for the advice.

At this point, I am really just curious.

Not sure I would really do this upgrade as I really don't need it because I just drive my car on the weekends and don't go to the race track or anything like that.

So just to clarify, when you say get the front and rear GT350 brakes...you are talking about the GT350 calipers and rotors correct, for both front and rear?

And brake pads of course.

Any other equipment that I would need or anything else would need to be upgraded to make those work?

I could probably use my existing brake lines (although upgrading those would probably help also).

I know in reality just upgrading to the PP Front brakes would be a huge improvement also but I figure if I do this, why not go to straight to the GT350 equipment if it all fits without any issues.

Thanks

You can not just use GT350 front and or rear calipers on non GT350 front and rear knuckles. The stock front non GT350 steering knuckles can be use but you need the caliper adapter braket. Then you can use the GT350 front caliper and rotors.
On the rear, you need to use the gt350 knuckles because the abs hole is drilled more towards the center of the wheel bearing bore. This is done because the GT350 Parking brake shoe plate is about 3/16"-1/4" thick and moves the abs sensor out towards the tire.
Full tilt boogie sells a complete kit for this swap.

That GT350 kit is pretty sweet, wouldn't you have to swap out the master cylinder for the correct bias? And would that bias even be right, since the regular GT has different sized tires?

Would PP fronts and GT350 rears look really mismatched? Performance wise not sure if the PP fronts would be worth to swap right?

Pp front is not worth it. Get the two piece discs from Essex.

Heelandtoemotorsports.com has a forum discount if you email them.

They will look good if you use the non r version which is anodized just like the GTPP caliper.

?Dumb question

Why not just run GT350 knuckles(ie spindles, ie uprights)?
Are the links all different?
Are the link mounting points on the lower front sub frame/K different?

The gt350 front knuckles and bearings are different. So is the whole front body work. The tie rods are different also. But the control arms are the same. Also the abs, dust shields, and I'm not sure but the strut clamp width may also be different. But the GT350 has a wider track width also.
