Question about Gracenote.

I have a 2015 GT with the premium package. I listen mostly to my I-pod classic. I let the Gracenote feature on the Sync system of the car assign the jacket cover because my i-pod has so many songs that were copied from burned CD's which don't have any info. It does a great job with any song and artist titles that came out before 2013, but has virtually no clip art for any recent music produced after 2013. My question is when you do an update to Sync, does it also update the version of Gracenote so that it will have jacket covers for newer music titles? Thanks in advance for any replies.

I listen to Classic Rock most of the time. If your i-pod has the song, artist, and album title the Gracenote feature of Sync (not the i-pod) will show 95% of the album art if they were produced before 2013, which most all of my classic rock was. It does not show any thing newer however. The last update my Sync has was in fall of 2014.

If you have navigation then I am pretty sure gracenote is updated through the navtech software.

You purchase the navtech update then:

Insert the DVD into the Ford navigation system while the vehicle's engine is running. Enter the authentication code to begin the update, if prompted to do so. This code is found on or inside the DVD packaging.

Remove the DVD from the system's disk drive when an "Update Complete" message appears on the screen.

Press the "MEDIA" button on the navigation system, then touch the "Jukebox" tab on the system's touchscreen.

Touch "Options," then "Update Album Information from CD database." The Gracenote CD information database is updated with the most current information.
