So I visited the dealership after work. They don't have an allocation. I asked for a clarification from what he told me yesterday, and he said that they can try putting in my GT350 order (along with my financials) and see whether Ford will allow the order to go through.

I have to reiterate that this is a small dealership. They have in the past, however, sold limited production models like Shelbys and F-150 Lightnings. So I don't know whether they're just unfamiliar with the process for the GT350 or if there's an actual chance that this will work.
Ford absolutely will not let the order go through if the dealer is not a part of the Shelby program. Run away !

Sounds like total BS.....:crazy:Ford cares about the dealership's Financials not yours ...Ford is selling the unit to them .......:headbonk::headbonk:

I would have liked to give this company my business since they're a small outfit in a small town, but I'll have to keep searching then. I don't believe they're trying to scam me, I think they're just unfamiliar with the process. I'll try other dealers and keep them in my back pocket.

I think I'm confused. Tell me if this is wrong...
1. dealer gets an allocation
2. dealer orders vehicle
3. dealer sells vehicle.

I am being told this...
1. dealer orders vehicle
2. dealer gets allocation
3. vehicle built and sold

I'm working a deal now but being told they don't have an allocation for 2017 "yet". They need to order my vehicle to receive the allocation.

That's not how it worked for me (or anyone else that I've know about).
The dealer gets the allocation and then can place the order
Your first 1 2 3 is the way my deal went down

1.Dealer can't order vehicle unless the dealer already has a allocation ...The END...

Sounds like BS. Very simple, if the dealer had at least 1 2016, they will have at least 1 2017. If they get more than 1, they would know it by now

That's what I thought BS. I know they had at least 1 and "supposedly" have a DIB Tech car on the way. That tells me they should get 1 or more for 2017.

I'm going by to find out the real scoop this evening.

I talked to a small dealership yesterday about a GT350 and the salesman said he'd be happy to let me order one at MSRP. The only thing is, I'm not knowledgeable about the allocation process. Do dealers require an allocation for an order? The salesman said I would need to submit an application through Ford to see if I my finances are good enough for an order. Does that sound right? It seems like they don't have an allocation (he didn't specifically say he did) but they're ok with me trying to get one through Ford.
Maybe he thinks you want a Ford GT and he is going to fill out the "do you think you are worthy" application!

As for the VIN of the DIB car. You can look it up

Checked out another dealership yesterday, they had two 2016 Techs. One Mag w/ blue and the other Avalanche w/ black. Both had $24k ADMs . I didn't even bother asking about a 2017 order and just walked out.

In state deals with $5K ADM or less have been very hard to come by. But, me and many others have found low ADM/MSRP deals elsewhere.

The whole west coast is a tough market but most other regions seem to be more reasonable.
