Magnaflow resonated x on the stock mufflers and cats and you'll love your non-active exhaust. Trust me.
Well let’s hear it...

I've had 3 other Mustangs over the past 15 years and put aftermarket exhausts on all of them, but not my '18 GT. I personally really like the quad tips, cool without screaming "look how huge and shiny I am". And I also am pleasantly surprised at how good the stock exhaust sounds just by replacing the resonator with an X-pipe, I've had several people ask what brand exhaust it is and every one has been shocked when I told them it's factory. But to each their own...
I 100% agree. I just had the resonator deleted and an X-pipe installed with factory mufflers....sounds great!!

I'm confused - why "simple slip on" take two hours to install? They look like slip on sleeves.
looks like those go from a 2.5" or 3" to 4" so i dont think it's a simple bolt on despite the description saying so. probably require some cutting. and yeah... black in name.. but chrome image... very odd. xforces page for those has even less info.. so idunno.

i started looking for tips the other day and with how the stock tips bend all weird its very difficult to know if something will work or not, at least somewhat easily.

Has anyone just painted the stock tips black? I intend to do this. I am looking for advice to ensure a satisfactory outcome. I bought self etching primer, gloss black , and clear high temp paint, as well as various grades of fine steel wool. My main concern is the color will change to brown after it heats up.

I haven’t painted exhaust tips but I have painted under an engine bay to include a block. I would recommend engine block paint to prevent any heat related distortion. Remember prep goes a long way. I would ensure to remove any impurities. Iron remover/ wheel cleaner. Then sand with mild grit until a uniform matte finish. Prime (sand if you really want a super smooth finish). Spray a light base. Two to three heavier full coverage costs. Clear if you really want to and polish if you’re super anal about the finish.
Sorry if you weren’t asking for advice lol

Thank you. This was exactly the type of advise I was looking for. Also, I was hoping to hear from someone that has painted the exhaust tips already, so i could see how they turned out.

Your advice on painting exhaust tips is spot on. Prep work is key for a clean finish, and using engine block paint is a smart choice to handle the heat. And to the person looking for tips on painting exhaust tips, sounds like you got the info you needed. Always good to hear from folks who've been there and done that. Good luck with your project! Oh, by the way, if you're ever in the mood for some different info, you should check out https://releaf.co.uk/medical-cannabis-card. They've got some interesting insights, including details about medical cannabis cards if you're into that.
