Was waiting on someone to say this... lol

Did you drive a GT yet ?

How much $ is the Ecoboost ?

It was all over when i drove one and stepped on the pedal and heard the V8.
if you drive one and don't feel that way then buy the 4 or 6 cylinder.
Both the 4 and 6 are pretty dam fast.

Why buy a V6? Reliability? Otherwise gas mileage and performance are not as good once you start modding

A certified pre-owned ecoboost would cost over $4000 more, significantly more than the cost of replacing the evaporator. Ford checked out the car, which I’m sure they could have missed something, but didn’t find anything wrong with it. A stage 1 COBB tune is not very aggressive either.
Well, personally I wouldn’t want to purchase a tuned turbo with that many miles. The power train warranty only has 10,000 miles left for that car, which equates to less than a year of driving on average. After that you’re on your own for any repairs on the head or fuel rail, not to mention worrying that the block around piston 2 is going to fracture. Also, if gas prices continue to rise, the published BHP rating for the V6 remains the same with 87 octane, while you’d be stuck putting in premium to get the published BHP rating from the boosted 4 banger.

Sorry but every time I hear that I just have to add it. Puts the fear in the back of the mind. ——EV——-
Fear? I'm hoping I have 1 of the last V8s. The ultimate evolution of the Mustang V8. EV can't come too soon!

Sort of like I bought the ultimate evolution of the V6 Mustang? —- YAWN —-

Unlike the Musclecar reign of the sixties and seventies we are not going to lower performance. It goes to a whole new level. You guys simply don’t know what you are in store for! I was watching a famous youtuber driving one of the fastest 911s and he kept saying “wow” about the acceleration but I never once saw his head jerk back due to violent acceleration.

With EV in a car like the Tesla Model 3 Performance, you are subjected to an instantaneous .94g shove into the seat. You can actually hurt your neck due to the acceleration. Combine this with regenerative braking and many newbies call it a “rollercoaster ride”! People’s hands shake uncontrollably after testing the acceleration in EVs. Their guts get compressed and some even feel it in the backs of their eyes. Acceleration in a performance EV will make everyone forget about the old and slow V8s.

That is the diff.

Sure some old-timers will covet the last of the V8s and it may even be me. But the EV experience will be in another universe. EV/hybrid cars have now surpassed human ability to control in my honest opinion. I drove such a vehicle a few months ago and considered it too dangerous to sell to the public.

Now you know why I get a hard-on about a performance Mustang EV. Check out the video below. Woman screams uncontrollably, hands shake and guts compress. That is what should happen showing off you new Mustang EV!

Honestly, I’m excited about the future of performance cars!

I love it when people assume others don't know anything. You'd have to live in a V8 bubble to not know about performance Teslas. Or performance hybrids like Porsche 918 and Formula 1 cars. Or e racing.

The V8 Mustang is iconic. Nothing against other configurations but they dont hold the same esteem.

Kind of like my 200+ HP Superbikes often get far less attention than a broken down Harley. But I still blow those performances EVs and for that matter almost any road car into the weeds in terms of lap times.

PS...My neck has no problem with the acceleration.

When you know what to expect the neck issue is a non-issue, but that first time is dangerous... :giggle:

The problem with iconic is that it can become old-fashioned overnight when something new comes in. Like a Morgan that was fashionable in the 1960s. Iconic but locked into a mould it could not escape. They are still making cars that look like they are from the 1930s and I wish them well but the Mustang is a more dynamic entity.

That whole Ford video reveal last week was to introduce the Mustang EV because that’s all people really talked about in the news - the big mystery... Ford has to get people weaned off the traditional Mustang bullet points. But a four door! Nope. Everything else is fair game though.

I even want ten rockets on the Mustang (like on the future Tesla’s) as the power will get people into trouble faster than they can correct. Traction control is not enough. You could probably use some help on your bike sometime.

Just saying...

And give me the largest rockets on the rear for even more acceleration!:like:

This conversation has taken on a theme that spells out please FOMOCO build me a jet air plane so I may kill meself ............

This ain't the jetsons . I really prefer getting my hands dirty and am comfortable enough to tear into any platform to amend and perfect the given design .

Now ya want electric motors to gunk up the works . If ya want a GM Volt go buy 1 and leave us professional ass 's alone with yer pipe dreams .

Like I wrote battery technology has not been perfected enough for the colder climates .. so do not get back to us when it does !

This is the best advice right here. I know your budget is tight, and trust me I get that. But, there has got to be other Ecoboost Mustangs out there. I advise a little patience, and keep looking. Good luck on your decision.

I ran Cobb Stage 1 for more than a year. It didn't give me any trouble at all. Have fun with it, and save your pennies for Stage 2 and 3.

Only pic I have so far. The car was less than $16 large out the door and Ford gave it the green light in the inspection.

The reason I didn’t consider a V6 was because Ford has retired them in the current model year and there is very little aftermarket support. The ecoboost gets better gas mileage and has better weight distribution. It’s already faster with this stage 1 tune. I plan to modify it to stage 3 over the next year, which will cost under $1000 if I keep my eye on the parts classifieds...
I think I’ll be happy as long as it doesn’t go eco-BOOM.

If you want the 4 turbo, get it. As long as it drives and sounds nice it should be fine for a daily driver and in traffic. A guy I know just bought a new 2018 EB, automatic- he need the gas mileage and he loves it. And yes you can hang with the V8's at a light- they need a lot of road and room to get past you. I had a lot of fun in my 2016 Miata- it was so light weight at the lights and would take off so quick from 0-30. My GT is not even that quick- too heavy to get going. But with a lot of road and a straight away and high RPM, the V8's will pull away.
