Proper tire pressure?

I have a 2 week old gt pp with pzeros. Pressure according to the car is around 42psi for each. I verified with a hand guage. The wheel well specs say 32psi. Should I drain them down? What's the danger of over inflation?

Yes, drain them down to a cold temp of 32.

Overinflation will screw up tires. premature wear around the middle

I just had new rims put on my 15GT. Checked the in dash gauge cold, and they were at 38. I like the feel of the higher psi but for a dd can i leave them at 38 or drop down to 32 cold?

As stated above, you'll get significantly shorter tire life at 38 psi as they prematurely wear a band down the middle of the tire.

check them first thing in the morning, lower (or raise) them to 32psi, you cant drive then adjust the pressure, the psi that Ford recommends is cold rating

I did chemick them cold. Always do. Just wondering why the performance shop set them so high. (38 cold).

When I got my GT, they were set really high so it makes sense now. I thought they only aired my tires up high. Seems they do that everywhere. :shrug:

Sometimes when they pop the tire on the wheel the use high pressure and when they release the pressure they dont go all the way down to 32-34 psi.

What is the "cold" temperature? To me it's the temperature at the time you measured your tire pressure and before it's been driven. From that temperature, lets say 32psi at 50*, if you go out that afternoon and it's 100* in the garage your tire pressure will probably be 37psi. Rule of thumb... for every 10* ambient air temp change your tire pressure will change by 1psi.
