Figured I would make one of these to properly organize my thoughts and have members berate me (I will gladly accept ALL forms of criticism, so please let your thoughts out
). I am still researching different options for modifications, especially to the entire suspension system (DEAR GOD there is a LOT), so in the mean time, I've been doing silly little things like wheels, and now currently, sticker-bombing just the decklid w/ fictional characters I simp for.
But details of what I've decided for my car: The best possible Grand Tourer. It's in the name, right?
Gen 2 5.0 Coyote
For engine mods, I'd say it is pretty straightforward as what many others have done: turbo/twin turbo. I've thought about staying strictly N/A, but I'm not sure how long the engine could even last as a daily driver when it runs even higher compression ratios. Plus, when I'm simply going on road-trips, I am free to "disable" the turbos by running them at very low boost pressures, right?
And of course, to support all that--a properly built up engine with better pistons, crankshaft and all of that.
Suspension
Initially wanted to go with coilovers w/ progressive springs, but now thinking more onto air. I know air suspension has improved over the years, and you have the much easier ability to change your ride height, stiffness and damping on the fly, and people do and can use them for track use. But I also know they're crazy expensive. Not to also mention the amount of space you lose to having a compressor to supply air to the bags.
That's all I really have on my mind at the moment. I'll update this when I learn more about the car and what options are there. If anyone has any critiques or suggestions, please bomb away
