I recently purchased and had installed the base Procharger HO kit for my manual-transmission 2015 Mustang GT. For this install I had the stock Procharger tune applied to the car. The only other modification is a Borla Touring cat-back system.

For the most part, the performance far exceeds my expectations, and the it-just-keeps-going-and-going-and-going effect of climbing high in the rev range is intoxicating. But as the car is my daily driver, one thing that has been bugging me is how sensitive the throttle is now.

Basically, it feels like the slightest minimum of pressure against the throttle is too much, causing the drive train to thunk in the rear and buck when driving. I've had this install for about two weeks now, and it's seemingly impossible to smoothly apply the gas. It's especially annoying when lifting some in turns--go too far off the pedal, and then the re-engagement of pedal will lead to a bucking situation.

It's like there's a higher "minimum" throttle response, leaving a gap between idling off the pedal, and the absolute lightest amount of pedal pressure I can give it.

Does anyone else have a similar feeling or issue? Would it be better to seek a custom tune from another vendor? I'm not even looking to wring out as much power to the wheels as possible--I just want to get the pedal action smoothed out.

I have the same car as you. GT w/PP. My Lund tune is having the same problem. They have been trying to smooth it out with very little success. I called it bucking, but others say it surge. But it happens to me in similar situations. But mine will also do it part throttle during upshifts if I shift to fast also. It bucks so hard they said they saw wheels spin on the dstalogs.

I was under the impression that the ProCharger complete kit did not have any driveability issues. But I guess it's not perfect with the 3.73 gear in the PP car at least.

I have the same issue. It drive me nuts.

I find it to be worse when the car is not 100% up to temp.

I find that putting it in track mode reduces (not eliminates) the issue ... so I drive everywhere in track mode. All RaceKor all the time.

Im hoping a custom tune this winter eliminates this, as it drives me absolutely insane.

Interesting because I talked with Lido at Alternative Auto and he said he permanently stopped installing centrifugal blowers on newer Mustangs because of issues like this. Really made me change my mind and decide to cough up the extra cash for the Whipple kit this winter.

Maybe I am used to mine but it drives pretty well. Lund tuned it. Took a while to get it sqaured away but is working well now.

sounds like the demand tables are too aggressive. I know this was a way to bypass the part throttle surge a lot of tuners were doing.

Actually all it is, is that all the pedal modes are now track mode.
Literally identical.

We had so many requests by people to "enhance" the throttle input,
we just made them all the same.

Until seeing this thread, this is the first time I have seen anyone want it removed.
Easy fix, just email into us and we can put it back to normal. Just don't blame us when it feels sluggish for the first half of the throttle. ;)

Thanks, it's good to know this was an "intended" setting, and that there's not something potentially wrong.

With regards to flashing a different tune using the supplied InTune tuner with the kit, once loading a new tune onto the device, do you simply flash over what is currently loaded, or must you flash back to stock and then load the revised tune?

The safe method is to always return to stock in between flashes, but many have just reflashed over the current tune with no issues.

Received the alternate tune today. Definitely seems to fix my issue from a quick test.

Did this update solve the issues of the over-sensitive throttle? Drive ability is everything!
