Hey guys I'm getting ready to purchase the Procharger stage 2 kit with p1-x head unit and was wondering what the smallest yet safest pulley size to add would be on stock motor ?? 15 Mustang GT

level 2 fuel system on e85, full exhaust, gt350 manifold, other supporting drivetrain mods, want to aim between 850-900 whp, mostly roll racing, no extreme beating on the car

I'd go 4.0 based on that. Could go 3.85 to max out but motor be pushed to the edge.

I made 16 lbs at 8,000 on the 4.50" pulley. And wasn't comfortable with that much on the stock motor on E85 for longevity. Makes about 14 lbs at 7,500 which is where it's currently turned down to. I have a 4.88" which made 10 lbs at 7,200.

Roll racing/highway pulls will be the hardest on the motor. The longer WOT the more cylinder heat it builds up and chance a ring land delete. Short 10 sec or less 1/4 mile is surprisingly not that hard on it if the engine is reasonable temp.

He wants 900whp tho. 4.0 get him real close.

Yea ill be upgrading a few other mods as well to try keeping the engine at a good temp, also wont be doing long pulls, hopefully all turns out well.

I use the standard 4.88 pulley and make 750 whp with 12lbs with my d1x stage 2 with pump gas and lucas octane booster.. stock motor with opgs and billet crank sprocket....it takes 10 minutes to change a pulley on prochargers so i would stick with the standard until your ready to go harder...

Stay away from a 3.85" on a P1X. That will make 21+psi and blow your stock motor to pieces lol.

900whp is risky on a stock motor. Not saying it can't be done at all, but especially with highway pulls... I would keep it between 700-800 unless you have your wallet ready for a built motor. Just my 2 cents.

Some have lifted heads at 15psi so personally I keep it under that. With that manifold rev to 8k to make the most power. Look into a wastegated setup if you want more midrange power and/or the ability to adjust boost level on the fly.

I find that hard to believe. Im running the 3.85 on the P1SC-1...not the same I realize but should be in the ballpark....and Im at 14psi maxing out the P1SC-1. I have a D1X waiting to go on and wanted to be in the same psi range. Called PC and they recommended the 4.5 or 4.38.

Stage 2 crank pulley? And the P1X is much nastier than the sc-1. on mine to make 16 @ 58,000 blower rpm with 63K max 21 sounds about right in dense air.
