My car wont start after initial startup. I will drive the car for roughly 20-30 mins just to get everything warmed up. I pull into my garage and turn the car off, and it won't start after that. I'm leaning on starter issues. Anyone ever ran into this? super puzzling for me. As soon as I let the car cool down, it always starts right back up. Please someone help me!

Needs more detail. How is it not starting? Does pressing the button do nothing? Does it crank a bunch of times and then stop? What exactly?

Kind of sounds like the starter is getting heat soaked.

High under the hood heat, as many post about. That cycle of hot to cool, will over time have an effect on electrics.

And likely the the problem. If it is happening every time like clock work, I'd be looking there.

Or drive it to your favorite mechanic pull in shut it down. Should be an easy fix.

One thing I would not do is remove it to have tested. Without a new one on hand.

. Even then the test results would be skewed cause of a cold starter, would pass.

Me I would not bother to test it, just replace it.

I am saying this using your description of the problem.

Is this still the original battery? Are there any other indications or warning associated with it?

When you say pressing the button does absolutely nothing, what exactly does that mean? Does it mean no lights/electronics come on or just that the engine will not turn over, or something else?

Sounds just like my starter issues. It'll potentially happen at any time, as long as the car is fully warmed up. At least for me, it never threw any codes. After many trips to the dealer, and exhausting many fixes, the tech just replaced the starter even though it tested fine and didn't have any codes. Lo and behold, never had a problem after that. My car is also a 2016.

I had same problem in my 1969 Corvette Stingray ; Had a big block installed by previous owner, 540 cubic inch (8800cc) ; went thru several starter motors after I moved from Detroit to Miami (solenoids and wiring would go bad due to heat) until we installed a racing motor starter and heat shielded it properly. I think Rapid Red is on the right track and would also suggest installing a new starter motor.

This thread brings up an interesting question. Do the ignition electronics in the GT350 allow you to pop start it? Has anyone ever tried?

Another thing to check is the clutch safety switch. If that is not working properly the car will not turn over.

Anyone have the part number for a starter in this car?
