Just noticed last night that the boot lid is about 5mm off the alignment :frusty:

Had my complimentary service this week, and pointed out the broken up pony projection on mine too. Its actually getting worse and is on both sides.

The dealership rang Ford Oz in Melbourne and were told no new ones in the country and had to order them in, but definitely not the whole mirror, its only the little projector.

Have just been told by my dealer that most of their Mustangs have the same problem.
Have you guys checked yours...?

Yeah I have it, not sure if anything can be done about it.

I really haven't had a chance to drive mine very much yet but I have noticed a couple of issues.
The passenger door window doesn't drop quick enough when you open the door and it catches on the frame. It's fine if you open it slowly.
Also I have a vibration noise from 70 Km/h+. I'm hoping it's a wheel balancing issue but... we'll see.
It's getting checked out next week sometime.
Other than that it's been fantastic.

You replaced your factory deck lid did you not @Bobsp12?

Do you remember if the original was aligned correctly?
Need to check this again, but as I recall... The alignment in that particular area can't be corrected with just adjusting the decklid. Because the decklid is attached (clipped) to 2 points and screwed onto the boot. So it's probably the actual boot that's misaligned.

The deck just covers the metal on the boot.

andman Someone was saying (I think it was Gnome), that the cause of the passenger door issue with the window is actually the rubber seal at the top.

Could be the case since my passenger door always opens smooth (vibration free) with the window down. But shakes a bit if it's up.

Drivers side fine both cases up or down.

Thanks gents.

I assume that a boot alignment adjustment would need to be done by a body shop rather than at the dealership?

If I bother getting this looked at, might just cut out the middle man and go to a trusted panel beater rather than some cut price hack outsourced by the dealer even if it does cost some $$$ to get right.

Drewbo I could do it for you for free. But it may involve a hammer and Tarzan glue from Bunnings :D

(Minor to major paint damage may also occur. But at the end of the day... it will be aligned)

Thanks for your kind offer, HybridGT.

Give me some time to think it over.

The standard, tested by time, alignment process at the panel shop usually involves a piece of wood and a hammer.

I would say mine's out by 2 to 3mm at the most; not worried about and would rather not mess with it.
