Preventing Exhaust Leaks

I'm looking to order the MBRP Street and Steeda CAI (no tune for now). For the piping connections on the exhaust, should I use some kind of sealant to prevent leakage? If yes, what should I use? I've been looking at an insulation wrap like this...

Also, the MBRP Street uses 3" tubing instead of 2.5". Would this cause any kind of loss in power? I know gains from any catback are negligible anyway. Thanks.

No sealant needed. I wouldn't wrap it with anything either it provides no benefit that far back in the system
