I didnt realize this after washing the black pp rims several times until last night. Theres a way to i.d. the rims 9" vs 9.5" by looking straight on at the rim face. Say you were at a wheel dealer and they were up on the shelf out of reach were you couldnt measure.. anyone know the difference? ..I do.

One is in the small spaces one is in the long. CaNY remember which is which but one is easy to clean one is even more of a pain.

I'd say ford did this different valve stem location to not confuse workers on the assembly line. Maybe they use the valve stem location to know that they are mounting the correct width wheel front or rear. Has anyone had both wheels off, front and rear side by side and are they fairly close in width?
