PP Question

I'm looking at a used GT online that I think has the PP package, this vehicle is NOT at a Ford dealer...The dealer its at doesn't know if this is a PP equipped car, they were going to make some calls and try to find out for me.

Based on the internet pics I am seeing Brembo brakes and extra gauges in the center of the dash..

What else should I be looking for in the pics to tell if it has PP ?

Would something in the vin tell me if has PP ?

The first most obvious way to tell is the rims and tires. These are only available on the pp.

Easiest way to tell is by the black pp wheels (with 275 rear and 255 front), the brembos, the gauges in dash and the strut tower brace under the hood.

If it has all of this, highly unlikely it is not a pp car.

The non-PP splitter sits almost flush against the painted bodywork, like the stock one (not the aftermarket addition) here:

However, the C/S also has a larger splitter, but can be differentiated by the tri-bar off-center badge on the grille:

Interesting. Never noticed the splitter being different size! Purchase justified now!

2 gauges on center dash (oil and vacuum). 19" staggered wheels. Grey 6 piston brembos up front. I also believe PP gets a different aluminum material inside. It's a machined material with little swirls in it where is the other packages get a regular aluminum look, I think? I have never sat inside a non PP but I recall seeing it on pictures.

splitter will also have "brake ducts" or channels on the bottom of it to cool the brembos

PP will also have a manual transmission

if you are shopping used cars, try to negotiate a price that assumes the previous owner was hard on the clutch. And get an independent mechanic to give it an inspection.

Anyone could buy the PP wheels/tires but the interior guages and brakes are more a sure thing.

Look at the differential if you can too, it will be tagged for the 3.73 rear end, and have a temperature sensor in the back cover.
