The missus and I stopped off at Costco today and I was intrigued by a power washer that they had on display.

The model number is PS80310E and it appears to be manufactured by Subaru. There isn't much info online except for a press release that I'll link below.

What's interesting is that it has an onboard soap reservoir. I imagine you could put in your chemical guys or other favorite soap and blast away, right? It also seems pretty powerful at 3100 PSI and 2.4 GPM. It's gas powered with electric starter.

Has anybody bought this power washer? I'm dying to hear if this is a good machine for washing your Mustang at home.

Thanks!

I have a similar one that I'm using today to wash my deck before restaining. The higher wash settings will strip paint and stain and are for what I'm doing or washing concrete etc. The soap feather only works at the lower psi setting just like at a self serve car wash. From what I have seen this would work fine with a chemical guys foam gun or by itself. Just use common pressure washing sense about how high of psi you use, the width of the spray pattern, keep the wand moving and not too close, etc. I think the real detail guys would be horrified at you using this without a chemical guys foam gun and a unicorn hair wash mitt, but is is just like any car wash would have...

Thanks! Do you think a lower PSI washer with foam gun would be better?

Does anybody have recommendations?

Just get a foam gun (Gilmour), a good hose, and a "little big shot super nozzle". Also get some quick conects for the hose that way swaping between gun, nozzle, turning off will be so much easier.

You can find all pretty much everywhere. By the way, the nozzle is like 10 bucks and it's really small but you'll be surprised.
I love those quick connects. I have them on everything (sprinklers, power washer, hose trigger, fertilizer spigots, etc)

It depends, are you going to use it for anything else but the car? If not it is probably a waste of money honestly. It's also going to be loud being gas and require you to buy gas and keep it full (vs an electric which is quieter and plug in and forget it for years).

You can get a foam gun that hooks to your hose and a good nozzle for under $50 and be on your way. Use the rest on good soap, polish, wax etc.

Are those foam guns for a hose any good?
I've been overseas for 12 years and have no experience with them.
