Thanks for great info!
I am buying the above
5) foam cannon Chem Guys EQP300 MTM and
3) Meguires Detail Shampoo.

2) & 4) cleaners. What areas and why do you use those products? Like on tires (you mean actual tire not rims?)

What makes the instant detailer better than less expensive prods. I really appreciate your guy's detailing experience here. :)
#2 is Chemical Guys SPI993 All Surface Cleaner & #4 is Chemical Guys TVD10716 V.R.P a UV protector & conditioner for leather, vinyl, plastic, rubber and tires.

For example when I waxed my 2014 SS Sedan I taped all the black trim so I wouldn't get any wax on them. All except I didn't tape my sunroof. Getting wax off black trim is a time consuming pain but with #2 the wax came off with little effort then I used #4 to protect/condition the trim.

When cleaning with #2 it leaves a rich natural finish behind. Makes it look like new and doesn't look/feel like its just been cleaned.

As for the tires (rubber) if needed I will use #2 to clean but just washing with #3 keeps my tires & wheels clean then I will use about 3-4 pea size drops of #4 on a towel to condition each tire. That amount leaves a deep black non grease natural look.

Detailer Spray - For many years I used Meguires detail spray & thought it did a pretty good job until I tried #1. The Chemical Guys WAC80816 Hybrid V7 leaves the paint feeling and looking like you just buffed & polished. I use it after I wash the car & in between washings. Since using this detailing spray I have had so many complements from strangers wanting to know what I use.

I'm not a pro detailer but I do like keeping my cars looking good. There are so many products out there it's hard to say what's the best. All I know is I am really happy with what I have now.

I think this hits the nail on the head right there. I've done detail work for friends and dabbled in paint and body some in the past. There are a ton of great products out there. Some of it is just personal preference and if you have something that works and that you like, just stick to it.

I just pressure washed the (very Light :) ) rail dust off my new convertible. Karcher gas 2650 psi washer worked as normal.

1) When I hooked up my brand new Chemical Guys EQP-300 MTM Foam cannon, it does not do a steady spray, it pulses. Like 1/2 second on, 1/2 second off, repeat. It is not air in the line kind of sputtering. It is at a consistent rythym that does not change! ANyone know what causes this or how to fix? The only adjustments I see on the cannon are the nozzle spray/stream and top for amount of soap solution.

2) Not foam at all, just soapy water. When I turned top knob all ther way to right, got better foam, but still runny. ANd wow, that container emptied the rest of the way before I got around the car (spurting). How many oz of cannon soap should I use per 'x' oz of water?
All I could find Googling was 2oz, but no referal to how much water that goes with. I used 2 oz of Meguiars D11101 Detailer Shampoo Plus added to 30 oz of warm water (and mixed well).

I should add that the coupling supplied would go far enough in to seat the cannon to PW hose. I was able to grind the groove that allowed the ball bearings too drop into it to hold the coupling in. It has a good seal.

Doing some research, It seems the Cannon causes too much back pressure for the 2650 psi/ 2.6 GPM Karcher pressure washer.
Per this Youtube, [ame]
The pressure needs to be reduced, but not via the machines safety pressure valve.(

Anyone else using a similar spec PW and use the MTM EQP-300 cannon successfully?

Discussion about adjusting pressure on PW itself, but I have not found where that is on mine yet.

I have a Honda 2600psi 2.3gpm pressure washer. The fitting supplied with the cannon connected without any issues and I get a steady stream of foam. I used the same mix of soap & warm water.

The Detailed Image cannon is a MTM unit, not sure the exact model but my 2800 psi Generac and cannon so far have been worked flawless.

Do you have the Chemical Guys Torq (EQP-310) or MTM (EQP-300)?
When I used 4 oz (which is 1" in bottom of bottle that I saw someone using Pink Stuff soap say was recommended), suds was better, but certainly not like I have seen on some videos where it stayed on vertical surfaces for a bit and did not run off right away. I'll try more soap next time.

With my pulsing I have to go slower with the wand and end up wasting lost of soap.

I called Robert at Chemical Guys. He said this was new to him and he gave me the number for MTM in Minisota. Maybe it is unique to Karcher PW's. I have not found any info Googling Karcher. I'll try to get a hold of Karcher too.

I have the Chemical Guys EQP300 MTM foam cannon. The next time I use it I'll try to take a video. I get the whole car soaked with foam in about 90 seconds using about 2oz (I think but will measure next time to be exact) of the Meguiar's D11101 Shampoo Plus. The foam cling to the car for several minutes.

Mr Monte,
That would be great! I actually marked my EQP300's bottle w/ a sharpie for ounces. As I mentioned, somewhere someone said to they were told to add "One Inch" of (Mr. Pink) foam soap. One inch on our bottles is 4 ounces. I'd be very interested in seeing the foam you get.

1) Do you fill the bottle with water along with your 2 ounces of Meguiar's Detail Shampoo? (so 2 oz soap + ≈ 30 oz water )

2) What do you set the top knob too? Full open clockwise? DO you adjust the 'fan' all the way together for widest fan spray?

Thanks!

1) Warm water 1st then add 2oz of soap. Soap then water creates suds in the cannon container

2) The top knob (air control) is full clockwise & the nozzle is full counter clockwise.

We washed my Son's Firebird today using the foam cannon & took a video of it.

I do live in the Edmonton area. After the wash bay's lowered the time for the buck, I decided to get my foam torq and Chemical Guy citrus&wax. I use it with my 1,700 psi washer and it worked fantastic. I did order a gallon citrus&wax from Amazon for only $23. The detail store sold me a pine of the same shampoo for $13. They sell it normally for $20. Saves some bucks shopping around. This works only for 8 month of the year for me.:(

Anyone care to provide feedback on this electric pressure washer? It seems perfect for what I need it to do, wash my car and use a good soap cannon vs. hooking one up to my hose.

or this one?

This is my favorite electric one:

Harbor freight has a cheap electric washer for $99 + the 20% coupon makes it $79. Even though I have a gas power washer, I'm thinking I might pick up the cheap HF one strictly for car washing duty. It certainly wouldn't be over powered and I wouldn't have to worry about the chemicals used for it's other uses.

My Karcher G2650HH Pressure Washer pulsing issue.

Unfortunately for me, it seems the design of my particular PW will not work with MTM or any other high or low pressure cannons. The flow sensor on my PW is designed to be too specific on the orifice it allows. Orifices come in standard sizes. Size #3.5 (1.25mm) is what my cannon has. Size #3.0 (1.10mm) is the next standard size down. Karcher has designed their unit to only work with a non-standard orifice in between (and there is no #3.25) so you'd have to buy their replacement tips. They designed their flow sensor to such a tight range that with my current PW does not work with this cannon. MTM thinks the 3.0 would be too small and shut the PW down. But I guess I'll just have to buy that one and see.
