I have not been able to find anyone who had powder coated the stock ecoboost 18" rims. Is there any reason for this? I feel like I might be missing something.

I'm going to eventually get new wheels but I want to powder coat these black till I wear the tires out and then keep them for winter's. Im looking to do all gloss black. Anyone have any experience with these wheels?

Thanks

To do PC you are looking at probably $75-100 a wheel.

I think most people just buy new wheels and then put that $400 and the used value of the take offs towards something not stock.

Perfect condition PP1 wheels are only $500ish used

If you really want to it will add up quick. Pay to take tires off and remove the tpms(yes it's necessary), pay to have the wheels sandblasted(factory paint and clear coat have to come off), then pay for powder coating of your choice, pay to have tires re-mounted and balanced.

Wow - $300 OTD is a damn good price for all that R&R labor + PC combined!

OP there’s quite a few threads on this site for powder coated stock rims and the results - here’s one by example:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/stock-18s-powder-coated-black.25159/

Although not your exact EB rims - but as others have said anything that is metal can be PC’d very easily - but prep and stripping down to bare is necessary for excellent PC adhesion and finish.

Looking to do this as well. OP -what did you go with? I’m looking to move away from the black wheels but not something too bright. I had the calipers done in red and would loved new 19” wheels but all these add up.
