Actually it is for your money. We have had these cameras in MD for years and there have been so many issues with more ass end hits from people slamming their brakes on to yellow lights timed way too quickly. It's just another money grab. ''It is for your safety'' reminds me of the other big lie...''it is for the children''. I do agree with construction zone speed cameras though because people do fly through them without a care in the world.

Maybe I should've included a "sarcasm" tag.
Speed cameras and naught but money-grabs on constituents and drivers, particularly because they're generally operated by third-party, for-profit vendors (e.g. Redflex, as when they set up red-light cameras and change the light timing to issue more tickets).

Fight it in court and ask to see the officer who wrote the ticket. Bet they don't show up, judge has to drop charge.
