My 2018 GT Premium with 19 inch wheela and Pirelli P Zeros continues to tramline at 13k miles and with a full dealer foue wheel alignment. Anyone had this issue and fixed it with a different brand of tires? I have always liked Michelins but wanted to get some feedback before possibly making a expensive change.

My Pirelli's were doing the same thing and at about 8000 miles I changed them out. Replaced them with Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+. No more tramlining and the car rides a bit more comfortably too. Only have 2000 miles on them so far

Strange thing with my Pirelli's is that at 8000 I am already at about 6/1000s tread depth. These tires don't last too long

conti's dont. Mich PSS/Cup2 do, big time! I haven't seen much about Indy500 being problematic but don't quote me on that - I may have just missed it. The General GMax don't give me any trouble.

If you stay under 285 you're generally safe but I guess your 255's are giving you trouble?

Iā€™ve never heard the term ā€˜tramliningā€™, can you describe it? Thanks.

basically it's the feeling of the front wheels walking left and right (often somewhat suddenly) over road imperfections. An example would be trying to walk up a 1" edge at highway speed - like when they've milled the Interstate and you go from the lower surface to the next lane over that has been freshly paved and at normal grade. That 'yank' on the steering wheel.

Thanks, I have that phenomenon on my car, a little less than 14,000 miles. I guess itā€™s time for new tires!

I did get an alignment after lowering the car. But the Pirelli's weren't wearing poorly due to alignment. All four are at 5-6 thousandths across the tread. So just poor mileage from them is all.

My car doesn't have 2000 miles yet and it does this on some roads. And they are 265/40/19's

In my experience anything over 245/255 on a car will tramline unless have touring or other tire with flexible treads.

Looks cool but often it's a performance and comfort downgrade on crap streets simply because the contact patch is very spotty.
I don't notice it as much with my cars with taller side walls,
The 28" by 10.5 front 15's and 30 by 12.5 on 15" wheels on the same road doesn't do it. They are M/T pass tires on a '67 truck .

I had Pirelli P Zero Max Performance summer tires on my 2021 GT Performance Pack car and at 11,000 miles the tires were toasted. I never had any issues with tramlining. I know when I had my Accord and when I put 30 profile tires I had tramlining issues until I changed to 35 profile without no stretch, stretching a tire can also give you tramlining issues. What's the width of your rims and tires you currently have on?

Yes, the HP will tramline, nature of the tire, I replaced them with RE980 A/S and it dramatically improved the street behavior of the car. Saved the Pirelli's for autocross but they let go after about 70 runs.
