I am very excited to place my order for my new Mustang, something I'll likely do this week. It will be my first Mustang ever, having been a fan since I was kid - starting with Eleanor in Gone in 60 Seconds :)

I want to make the experience special. And I think I have an idea.

When my Aunt bought her Volvo sedan about a decade or so ago, she actually traveled to the assembly line in Switzerland and picked the car up as it rolled off line. She then drove it around Europe, and subsequently had Volvo ship it to her home in California.

Seeing as I live in Michigan, just 2 hours north of the Flat Rock Assembly Plant where the Mustang will be built, you think I could do the same thing my Aunt did? I could think of no better way to start my lifelong relationship with the Mustang family.

So how about it :ford:?

Somehow I doubt it. You can always contact Ford. It never hurts to ask. Don't get your hopes up though.

It's too bad they don't have an option like the Corvette's Museum Delivery.

Even though you can get the "Buyer's Tour" of the factory when you pick up the Corvette, and walk down the line from station to station while your car is completed, you actually take delivery from the Corvette Museum across the street from the factory in Bowling Green, KY and not from the actual assembly plant. Union rules about delivery/destination fees and stuff.

Ford doesn't do factory delivery programs

What would be cool is if Ford would offer a factory delivery to any Armed Service Veteran who ordered free of charge. And they would not have to pay Destination of $895 on top of that.

Then… Offer an option while ordering for factory delivery for everyone else, still charge destination of $895 to pay for it and maybe another $300 factory delivery option charge and use that money to offset deliveries to veterans. I wouldn't mind paying extra to know some of my money was helping out our well deserving Vets. :)

+1 this would be awesome and I would gladly participate, cars could be scheduled the same day based on build and those owners could all be there in a group factory pickup :headbang: :ford:
