I spoke with Beefcake numerous times of the past few weeks picking his brain on which kit would suit my goals best. He was very patient with me and my questions. I decided on the Paxton kit over the Procharger or Vortec because it seems to be the best bang for the buck. I also decided to go centrifugal instead of positive displacement so I could keep the strut braces in place. I have a convertible and figure the engineers at ford deemed them necessary for structural support so why not keep them.

Now it is just a waiting game for all the parts to start arriving.

Thanks for all the support Team Beefcake.

I also when with Paxton Terry is a great guy to deal with he helped me to decide I was stuck between a procharger and Vortech and Paxton has the bigger head unit for the money and I got all my supporting mods for the same money as a procharger kit. So why not upgrade while your there. Thanks Beefcake!

Has anyone seem the power numbers on the paxton with pump gas? I would love to drive a car with a whipple then drive a vortech or paxton car. I like to drag race so 1/4 mile time is what d=will drive my decision along with reliability and fit and finish.

If it's about 1/4 mile times you'll want a centri and you might as well go with the JT Vortech that Terry runs on the shop car.

I will post numbers once I install my kit and get it squared away. The dyno I will be using will be a Mustang dyno, the numbers wont be as high as others but I know that going in.

Does anyone have install instructions for these?

I helped a buddy install a beefcake special paxton kit on his 14 and I was wondering what the install differences are specifically:

Do you have to hack up and reconnect the auto tranny lines?
Still have the trim the 5.0 shroud?
Where is the MAF mounted and does it still use an air straightener like the original kit?
What is the overflow tank made of?
Is the pcv system still in tact and working?
Basically is there trimming/cutting/splicing involved or is it like the procharger where you just remove stuff and bolt in?

I will find out soon enough. The engine covers are different so I they should not need to be modified. I can post pics along the way as I install if it would be helpful.

There have been plenty of procharger installs documented but none of the paxton/vortech. Would be great to see one documented.

I would love to see it

Thanks

Dude I so agree with you about the strut tower brace, I would never get rid of mine and I don't even have a convertible.
