just a few hoses and a little piece off the top of the fan for the air inlet
Do you happen to have an install guide for one of these on a 2015. I'm considering a Paxton as I don't want to have to grind the metal off the timing cover in the Ford Racing kit. Thanks!

Where about in NC are you? I'm contemplating the same kit and would like to know how the car is vs our car as it sits.
I'm in Fayetteville.

One thing I found out tonight, even though I sent my tire size with the tune, I'm pretty sure it's not accurate. I got pulled over and my speedo was 8mph off because of the larger wheels. Luckily the cop has an 03 cobra and just chatted with me about the car for a sec and let me go.

Aside from that the only complaint I have is compressor surge. I'm not sure if the bov upgrade will fix that. I'm still trying to decide if I should get the vortech upgraded bov or look into the Tial. It's kind of frustrating right now to be honest, but for now I'm seldom in boost, so I'm just dealing with it.

That's the noise I was talking about. Where did you tap? The bov may not be getting a good signal for boost or the line may be kinked. I am putting on my tial today but I had minimal surge. Zip tying my intake like I posted helped tame it down oddly enough.

Compressor surge is when the turbine briefly stops or is forced backwards. I dont see how that's possible on a gear driven compressor ie not a turbo

I tapped into the vacuum hose on the lower portion of the check valve (where the instructions said to). I don't like the way that 5/32 hose that came with the kit. I had to mess with it a lot to get it on the reducer. i thought maybe I had a kink in the hose as well, but I triple checked it and the line has a nice path to the valve. I checked the intake a bunch of times too. Didn't tie it down, but I had a good amount of clearance. When I had someone rev it up I felt the air fluttering back out of the intake. It's supposed to go on the dyno Saturday. I'll see if the guys at the shop can take a quick look at it and maybe they can figure something out that I'm not thinking of

It's more of BOV flutter than a compressor surge but it can fuck the compressor up because of the air bouncing off the blades

Surge happens any time the airflow is disrupted due to the pressure downstream of the compressor being too high. The compressor doesn't have to physically stop to be in a surge condition. It will catastrophically fail before it stops.

A little flutter is not going to kill your compressor and it certainly won't cause it to drive backwards. The key is to find the right spring compression for your diverter/blow-off valve.

Are you going to Competition or Fastlane for the dyno?
Competition. Going to have them put my RXT in the near future too since I don't feel like crawling back under the car.

went to the track today to shake the car down and see how it performed. I was launching very conservative since I'm still on stock clutch and half shafts and short shifting to 2nd and 3rd. I have a new RXT w/ flywheel ready to go in. Half shafts will probably happen next month.

The car I was racing was a Heads, Cam, 4.10s LS Trans Am. The guys reaction at the end of the video was priceless:lol:
