Hi guys,

I just installed my Paxton Novi Beefcake special this week. Install went well enough, but after a few minutes of running I developed a belt squeak, like an intermittent chirp chirp chirp.

I went back under the hood, belt alignment seemed good, messed with the tensioner and checked what I could and all seemed ok. Went out to do some pulls and data logging for Lund, and it quieted right up. No issues.

The next day I took a little road trip (300 miles) of mostly easy cruising with no issues. Checked the belt and it slipped partly off one pulley by one rib (still no noise), so I moved it back onto the pulley and my intermittent chirp chirp chirp came back. Ran the car a bit, noise went away again, belt stayed on.

Later on I got a chance to do a couple highway pulls, and on the 5th or 6th pull the belt came off. Limped it to the next exit, got the belt back on, obviously some damage on the belt now. Squeals like a banshee, lol.

Was it loose? Out of alignment? Anyone had this happen with a Paxton or Vortech setup? Any help appreciated.

Here's my celebration donuts after getting the belt back on, :D

You got a pulley out of alignment slightly. That's 99 out of a hundred that's wrong when it's slipping off one rib like that

Did you contact Beefcake and ask him? He's done so many he might know what to look for right off the bat.

Yep, definitely a pulley that's out of alignment. The obvious place to start is the one pulley that slipped a rib.

Did you get this fixed. I think my belt jumped a rib towed the engine on the grooved idler pulley under the head unit.
