Anyone setup for mild road course running a paxton/vortech or procharger? If so any input on setup and boost? Im going to be built extremely similar to steeda's q650 but was hoping for some knowledge from guys already track testing. I know most people stay n/a for road couse so no need for debate on which is better.

I recall running in a group with a Paxton car at Sebring in the summer. I recall heat being an issue and the car was not able to run full out for more than 15 min. Then had to go back to the pits and put fans in the engine compartment. I am just suggesting research heat generation and dissipation when deciding on a product.

"bam2002" I appreciate the input, ill keep looking into it. I've heard both ways concerning heat with this kit on s550's so time will tell on that issue.

Superchargers on the track are a sensitive thing. Heat will always be an issue, and depending on the track more horsepower won't necessarily mean faster. If you want reliability on the track I'd just stay NA.

+1

Typically, you won't see many supercharged cars on the track because of heat. An NA car will put up just as much of a fight on a tight track as one with a supercharger. We have a guy running our kit on a 2014 Mustang, who has a Procharger. At the last few events, it's been more problematic for him than it's worth.

Like i said in the initial post, I KNOW MOST PEOPLE STAY N/A FOR ROAD COURSE. Thought i was clear i wasnt trying to start a debate. This is my first boosted car and i was just seeing if anyone had pointers because although superchargers may be rare on the course, they are out there and not completely worthless.

Biggest IC and radiator you can find. Add more vents to hood. Add a big oil cooler. Don't go more than a couple laps at 10/10ths and then back it down for a lap. Don't do summer events.
