I'm finding I need the passenger side exterior mirror adjusted to its most inner range to be in the (almost) correct position.

I feel like this has been discussed somewhere but a search didn't find anything. I'm not referring to the folding of the mirrors, just adjusting them for the correct view.

With other cars you can just push the mirror itself into a new position and electrically adjust from there. The Mustang mirror doesn't seem to want to budge although I'm not game to apply too much force.

Are others finding the same thing?

Yep, same problem.
My left mirror is almost at it furthest setting to get accurate view.
I think the mirrors aren't symmetrical (left and right) and probably are for LHD driving position.
You can also see that the left pony projection is closer to the car and driver side pony logo is projected a bit further from the car.

The mirrors are weird and as MM PonyGT said, not symmetrical. ...I am sure Ford would call it a design feature....you get used to it, but it is strange. On the whole, being a fastback coupe, the rear visibility is good...I havent had any issues in not being able to see anything behind me or in other lanes.

This mirror thing has come up in a few places. For me it is not too bad but for anyone who is vertically challenged it will be an issue. I had a good look at the mirrors on the Mustang and on other cars and usually the one on the left has a different housing shape to the one on the right, so that mirror angles back more on the left but from the front of the car they look the same. On our RHD cars with the dumbo mirrors that they used for export cars it looks like they have used mirrors designed for LHD cars ( Europe), but changed the angle of the bracket that attaches the mirror to the door to compensate for it. I have noticed that a fair bit of the left mirror is hidden by the housing, the inner edge of the housing on the left mirror should be shorter than the one on the right side, but these are reversed. I mentioned this to the dealer at the 3000 km service and the guy who looked at it agreed that for shorter people the left mirror it is virtually useless. They have put in some form of report to Ford about it, but if they do anything about it we will have to wait and see. For me it is not a big issue but for shorter people it will be a problem, for my better half the passenger mirror may as well not be there.

Will I let this spoil my enjoyment of my new toy? Nope, but it is something that will affect some more than others.

I'm just under 6 ft in the old money and I find the LH mirror is just OK for me. If I was closer to the steering wheel it would be useless.

The problem as I see it is that the mirror can not be turned inwards enough; it has a limit on the travel and when reached it pops back out just a little.

For me though no issue.

I think it may be possible to grind away some of the stops (looking at my mates car and make it a little more adjustable. I'm going to take it apart and have a go on mine when if it arrives.
