Hi guys - a bit of an odd one here. for those that have their cars now, how far back and forward does the front passenger seat fold? I'll be folding down the back seats to put surfboards thru and there's a few ways of doing it. it could make it easier if the front passenger seat folds a long way forward.

Is give you a pic but I'm away from Sally for a while.
I also have a question though-
Does anyone else's passenger seat make clicking noises when using the electric slider?

The short answer Noddy, is that it doesn't fold forward much.

It only goes a few degrees forward of vertical. Just enough for someone to squeeze into the back. With the seat slid and tilted full forward, the rear of the seat back is level with the front of the console armrest lid, still rear of the cupholders. The total seat back travel from normal seating position to full forward tilt is only about twenty five degrees. The high seat bolsters prevent further travel.
You are going to have ditch your Malibu, get a very short board or fit a hinge in the middle of them...:D
And Burkey...no noises when seats are moving..

Yep I concur with Bobsp12, noddy, not much of a tilt forward. You might have to roof rack the boards.:D

On the seat clicking Burkey no problem here, yet, but I have read threads outside of Australia where this occurs.

Thanks guys. no, not trying to stick a mal in there! You'd be surprised at how easy it is to get boards thru the back of sedans and hatches that have folding rear seats. people do it all the time. The Stang obviously has a small back seat area but the boot is pretty deep (front to back) and wide, although shallow height-wise. What about folding back, how far will the passenger seat fold back with the rear seats down?

I am with you on how much you can squeeze into some cars. Many moons ago, I bought a Daihatsu Charade to teach the kids to drive in. I could fit massive sheets of gyprock and wood into it. It amazed passers by who wondered how this clown was going to fit the stuff into that little car.

The passenger seat in the mustang only tilts back about forty five degrees or so. It is stopped mechanically, not reaching back to the rear seats. Not much space gained. I assume that the headrest is removeable. I haven't tried it, but that wont help much either.

What about feeding the board into the boot from the drivers side then going diagonally thru the middle towards the front passenger side with the front passenger seat all the way back to the rear seats and then the backrest folded back into the rear seats?

The backrest doesnt fold back down much noboot....only to about a forty five degree angle.
