I replaced all four corner shocks with steeda fixed rate shock/struts a couple months ago. All was well for a week then the passenger front developed a bad popping/clunk. I have tried everything to fix it. New strut mount, new uppermount insulator/bearing, fresh spindle bolts and a new end link with fresh nuts. Problem is still there. Pops badly at low speeds while turning or pulling out of a driveway. Driving strait down the road I really can't hear anything while just driving strait down the road.

The sway bar end links are tight, top strut mount is tight, the only thing that is different from the drivers side is the orientation of the top mount notches which I really didn't pay attention too because it looks like the mount is symmetrical... could the orientation of those two little notches where the top of the strut comes through really be causing noise?

Triple check those sway bars. I didn't tighten mine enough and a rattle developed after a week. Tightened them up and it was gone

I guess I can try and get a breaker bar on them, but I got them as snug as possible with a long 18mm wrench.

You are holding the back of it with a wrench at the same time right? Otherwise it will just be spinning

I've also seen a couple ppl fix a rattle after installing springs by tightening down the top nut on top of the strut mount. It can be tough because the strut spins

Yup the top nut is tight, the steeda shock has a allen key at the top of the strut to prevent It from spinning.

And for the end link yes, 17mm wrench to prevent it from spinning.

The strut mount (top hat), what you have pictured above, should have a notch on one of the 3 sides, off center, near one of the studs. This notch should be facing the engine bay when installed.

Pull out strut, rotate top mount to match orientation of driver's side, see what happens. Otherwise, call up Steeda, explain the situation. You have a warranty if it's gone bad.

I do want to see how you have assembled the strut including the top bolt. There is a spacer that is sometimes forgotten.

End links need to be at 85 ft. lbs. which I doubt you're achieving with a wrench.

Keep us updated. I had some install the Steeda camber plates and now have the same issue.

Why does the notch need to face engine bay? Isn't the mount flat and symmetrical.. it should be even measurements from middle hole to all 3 corner bolts. Not sure what the importance of the notch orientation is and no one seems to be able to answer what it actually benefits or throws off.
