Hi all, I’ve tried another forum and Facebook for help but no luck.
I installed an SR performance shift knob on my 17 ecoboost auto. The install was fine, but the car has not registered that it is in park ever since the install. Chime goes off every time I turn off the car and open the driver door. Also I can shift while car is off without even pressing the knob down.
Solutions tried :
I have flashed a new tune, reset ecu learning, cleared codes(there was no CEL), had a mechanic friend check the cable underneath and seemed normal with little slack, disconnected battery for 30 minutes, installed SR and original shifter multiple times. Can’t fix it and seems like the issue was caused by turning the car off while shifter was in sport position for more room during install. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
PS ford is charging $200 just to diagnose
