I was quoted $2177 for the following from my Ford dealer:
Fusion PK - Fabric, Vinyl, Paint and Carbon window tint

Sounds like I'm being ripped off a bit eh? If so, what do you think I should be paying and can anyone recommend a good place in Brisbane (preferably south or east side)?

Saw this video a while back, is this a different kind of paint protection?

I got all this for $2000 at dealer including front parking sensors. Originally they wanted $3000. Try and screw them down otherwise go to external companies for each items.

I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere and going to a detailer rather than using ford as a middle man. There are better products on the market than this. Also I am dubious as to how useful it actually is

Both above sound expensive to me. You should be able to get paint, wheels, interior all done for around $1200

What is the actual product used for the paint protection? There are a lot of products out there that although protect the paint to some extent they don't wear well and are grossly overpriced. Also a big part of proper pain protection is the pain correction step.

Make sure you know what you're buying and how it will be applied. This is a real money maker for some Dealers, charging thousands for actives that cost under $100.

By default I would not and did not go through a Dealer.

Keep in mind that dealers will add their commission to anything you order from them for the convenience of doing it for you.

There are a number of options available, from what I have seen the most popular are Opti-Coat Pro, G Technique Crystal Serum, Body Armour and Ceramic Pro 9H. I went with Ceramic Pro 9H and I am very happy with its finish. I used this website to find an authorised applicator http://www.nanoshine.com.au/brisbane.html. Visit the detailer before committing, the most important part of paint protection is the paint correction process, if this is messed up the poor finish will be trapped beneath the protective coating. Make sure you are happy with the detailer and check their work.

Cost will vary depending on the state of your paint work and product used, Ceramic Pro 9H cost me $1300 and tint was an extra $350.00.

Hope this helps :D

That is not paint protection, that is a clear film. Paint protection is similar to a permanent liquid wax. Below is a sample of vehicles with various types of paint protection products. All look pretty good to me, only time will tell re the longevity of each product used. Some require an annual inspection to retain the lifetime warranty, and there may be an additional yearly charge for this, so make sure you ask.

The great thing I found about my paint protection is that bugs and dirt wash off with warm water and no scrubbing – so no damage to paint work. My personal opinion is that paint protection is a sound investment.

Apologies for hijecking the thread for something a bit different but hopefully still related. Thinking about window tinting - My main reason for tinting the car would be to reduce UVA rays.

Does anyone know if the Mustang is equipped with UVA screening glass? (I know some cars have it these days)
