Paddle Shifter Disable ??

I found this out the fun way too. Nothing like accidentally hitting the paddle shifter and having your car buck and almost redline as the engine saves itself.

It would be nice if the manual made it clear that the paddle shifters are still enabled while in "D" if for no other reason than to save me from freaking out.

Read the first paragraph on page 137 of the manual. Where it tells you that.

Bump.

I want them disabled. I've never driven manual so imagine my panic when I accidentally throw my car into first yesterday. I've had my car a little over a week and hit the shifter three times so far.

Dremel tool...cut the ears off!

I just put a small rubber O ring between the paddle and the rear of the steering wheel so that it eliminates the problem of accidentally hitting the down shift!

No unfortunately. That’s why it hasn’t been brought up again in almost seven years.
