After the tune with my Vortech equipped car the shift responsiveness is certainly better, if I click the next gear at 7,000 on the tach it shifts right there at 7,000. I'll have the car on a road coarse Dec 27th so i'll have a little better idea just how good the paddle shifters work in that arena

Wish I could disable paddle shifters

I have an auto, and I have hit the downshift paddle when I turn on the right turn signal. I don't plan to use them, so I wish there was an option to disable them.

Keep it in drive and out of sport...

LOL... I don't have it in Sport. Imagine my surprise when I hit the paddle (while in drive) and it shifted. This must be one of the undocumented features that Ford didn't know about.

From page 127 of the Owner's Manual:

With your vehicle in drive (D), the paddle
shifters provide temporary manual control.
They allow you the ability to shift gears
quickly, without taking your hands off the
steering wheel.

You can achieve extensive manual control
by moving the gearshift lever to the sport
(S) position.
• Pull and release the right paddle (+)
to upshift.
• Pull and release the left paddle (–) to
downshift.

The system determines when temporary
manual control is no longer in use and
returns to automatic control.

Just cut off the plastic paddles. They don't seem very durable.

How did your track day go?
Track day went better than expected. The car exceeded my expectations handling wise and braked just as I thought it should. The steering responsiveness was spot on and the car felt pretty well balanced even on a rather cold track. The paddle shifters worked perfectly and the responsiveness there was impressive too. The car rev matches the downshift coming into the turn which allowed me to carry quite a bit of throttle through the turns with firm and fast up shifts exiting the turns. I'm very excited to get some more track time with this car and the automatic was no disappointment for sure!
