Yesterday while cruising down the Turnpike with the occasional "stomp on gas pedal" I got a P0812 code? HP Tuners describes it as a (Reverse Input Circuit) all my safety features were disabled, I got the no hill assist message and my back up camera displayed as a vehicle Icon with an exclamation?) Anyone else had this happen? Once I turned car off and drive again it did not happen again.

It's scary/annoying that it happened, but I don't see any relation to "pedal-stomping", especially since you were just cruising on the highway. Does the vehicle go into reverse and drive repeatedly without any issues?

If it happens again, I would open the center console and re-seat all the switches around your shifter and check for any pinched wires/corrosion.

These cars are computers, so you may have just experienced a PCM crash.

Thanks for the reply, Come to think of it I had an mgw shifter installed along with a mcleod clutch. The car isn't my daily but the install happened about a month ago and I've driven it a few times since. The only other issue and was an easy fix was the "crank relearn" that triggered a code. What you say makes sense. It was strange since the car displayed the backup cam abruptly during the drive.

I would definitely re-verify the connectors and plugs in the center console.
