I'm totally stock. No tune. Whenever I go on track days, within 5 mins of driving hard at the track, I get a blinking CEL. Scanned it and it says P0300 random multiple misfire. I did not feel that the engine was running funny. My lap times were as fast as during my previous runs with no CEL.

Here are some more details..

Car has 10k miles
100 degree ambient weather
91 octane gas
CHT at 240 when the CEL comes out and blinks.
When I clear the code after a track day, it does not come back during street driving. No engine knocks or pings heard.

What could be the problem?

Sounds like your car needs a crank relearn.

- Remove the ignition coils and inspect for coolant in the spark plug wells. The presence of coolant indicates a cracked head.

- Have the dealer inspect the IMRC (Intake Manifold Runner Control) for proper operation. An issue with the IMRC can cause poor performance and will cause a random cylinder misfire DTC (P0300) to set.
