Over heating on dashboard but eng not

I have 5l mustang 2016 can any one help i think its cht sensor it give a wrong information to dash has anyone had this problem

Under normal driving conditions, the Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT), the in-dash reading, will run 10 F degrees greater than the Engine Cooling Temperature (ECT), a measurement which can be read via programs like FORScan.

Under normal driving conditions, what is the in-dash temperature reading?

How did you determine the engine is not overheating?

Is this a recent event? A long-term problem?

Is the vehicle throwing codes, de-activating cylinders or actually shutting down?

Is this a stock car? Or has the engine and powertrain been modified?

Does the vehicle consistently display too high a temp, or only under certain conditions?

Are the radiator cooling fans (both) operating?

Has there been any recent maintenance or changes to the car?

Are you losing coolant? What does the oil look like?

Is the vehicle otherwise driving normally?

Check if engine is warm its cold but thiers a warning on the dashboard saying its over heating but fans are running no leaks car only running for 5 mins goes into limp mod any help

If everything else is otherwise operating correctly, yes, the CHT sensor could definately be at fault.

Other possibilities are the water pump, thermostat or fans, but from your observations, those appear fine.

I'm not aware of another bit which could create such an obvious difference between the displayed temperature reading and the actual temperature itself.
