ive seen the video which is why i was under the impression about the orange hex logic pads so pretty much orange to polish the car and remove the damage and black for applying wax but what exactly is the finish polish for
The finish polish removes the light swirl marks left by the orange pad and polish.
I watched the Junkman2000 videos 4 times before I understood all the good information he gives. So take your time and watch as many times as necessary.

I have used exactly the products he suggests on some scratches on my Harley gas tank. Worked perfectly. I now have a scratch above my wheel well. As soon as it stays dry long enough, I will use it there.

I ordered my Porter Cable a while back and used it on Veteran's Day -- nice machine. I think the pad you use also has to be matched with the polish or compound you use -- I used a white pad with Chemical Guy's 778 paint correction:

I think with an orange hex pad, you'd get a lot heavier cut with that stuff, whereas the white pad is more gentle. I also don't disagree with those saying don't over do it with polishing intervals -- the paint on these cars is pretty thin...

I use a PCable as well. Lake Country Orange pad and cutting polish. White Lake Country foam pad and finishing polish. Black LC foam pad for Glaze, then Red LC pad for Wolfgang sealant. I use Shine Supply and Adams products mainly. I enjoy correcting paint, especially when you can step back and see the results.

Looks like a good deal -- you'll be happy with it, I think.
