Finally ordered custom plates today- took a shot at availability (actual plate lettering not identified herein-not jinxing this until they are in my hands).
Back story- in 1966 my parents bought a WW 66 Mustang Coupe. A big splurge for them as they usually bought slightly used family sedans to save $$. I grew up in the back seat of that car (more ways then one). When I was 17 it became mine...
That car is the only one that I can recall the license plate on (another story but spend 10-11 pm searching the Disneyland parking lot while dead tired for a white Mustang in 1968, no door clickers then among a sea of white mustangs-that LP was burned into my brain as a kid). 3 letters and 3 numbers. (ok I recall my 03 Mach 1 had "03RCODE" but that is the only one). Have no idea of my current cars...just never bothered to memorize.
Well, back to the story-- that old 66 is long gone (sold it to an X girlfriend who later totalled it
). So I wondered-after some 40 years would that old plate letter/number combo be still blocked----NOPE!
So my 15 WW LE will carry the same plate (lettering) as my 66 WW Coupe. Cool. In time a 66 Coupe will be found and restored (WW, Aqua interior) and the plates switched over but for now grabbing that 'personalized plate' and not letting go again.:ford:
