My 2019 order is going in the computer Monday. I was just curious, what type (if any) of order/build/deliver tracking can dealerships do? The sales manager said something along the lines of I'd have a VIN in about 4 weeks or so. Also, any ideas on total order to delivery time? I'm guessing 8-10 weeks.

My sales guy, a Fleet Manager, printed out an Order Summary for me. It includes the Sales Code and Order Code which allow tracking of your Mustang. The Priority Code on mine is 11 which is next best to a 10 Priority Code.

Are you registered on the Blue Oval website? Some of the Ford employees on there are very helpful if you ask for assistance. Generally, they ask for you to PM your request.

I ordered mine April 23rd and it's scheduled build is the week of July 16th. I'm figuring my GT will be delivered around Labor Day.

Thanks. July 16 / Labor day. That's a long wait.... Ugh.

I guess there is this - I suppose it works...

Yeah, long wait indeed.

The Ford employees have stated that COTUS is unreliable as it will function properly at times, but it's really a BETA system.

Hey, time flies so at least in a few short months we can look back at your post and laugh about how it seemed like pick up day would never come!

I guess patience is a virtue. That said, the thing that gets me is that waiting 4 months is about what it would take to order a car say being built in Germany (like an Audi or something). You'd think Ford could do better given it's locale, particularly since they've opened the order banks.... I bet I'll see 2019's arrive at the local dealer before my order shows up if the above is any indication. In that case, might just switch over to something on the lot.... To be determined. I guess time to just enjoy the summer.

I got a VIN back in March when my order went in, and have been checking the COTUS site on and off. There was a while where it wouldn't find my VIN at all, but it must have been a database issue or something, because it's been pretty solid since.

I don't know how accurate it is, but it shows that my order for an '18 just went from order processing to in production on 5/3, and it still has an EDD of 6/9.

I was ordering new cars from Ford in the mid 60's when there were no computers. Dealers phoned in the orders to the zone office at the end of every week. I got a factory order Falcon Sprint in 8 weeks. So much for technology:shrug:.

My 2018 will be close to 5 months. Everyone's so busy looking at their computers they don't have time to build a car. They built 1.4 million Mustangs from about this time in 1964 until the end of 1966. No computers and no robots.
Just hard working men and women. I know it's not the same but in 50 years it now takes 5 months to build and deliver my car.

My order went in today - it says Priority: 10. Based on the above, I'm guessing that means next to nothing.

I exaggerated some 12-26-2017 EDD 5-18-2018. But a long time and now spring is here and I want to take some road trips. I am to old for waiting.

Your 20 is good. :clap2: first in line for stock builds. Custom builds are VERY rare these days. Most dealerships wont do it, and most buyers do not have the patience to wait.

As soon as your dealers turn comes up for an allocation you will be off to scheduling. Hang tough!,,
