May help people to know what the priority code means if there is someone on here that knows. My priority is 80. Any clue what this means? Order number is A002 and not four numbers. All others i have seen were just four numbers. Thanks

See: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php/2015-mustang-orders-1776.html?p=46178

When I place orders for a customer (a retail order), I have to give it a priority code from 10-19. Orders for store inventory (a stock order) gets a 20-89 priority code. Priority codes tell Ford which order the dealer wants them built in, from lowest # to highest. Cars only compete against the same model within the same dealership, so I can put a 10 on a Mustang and a 10 on a Focus, and they don't affect each other. However, a 10 on a Mustang V6 trumps an 11 on a GT, so you have to compare your own priority code on a Mustang order against all the other Mustangs ordered at that dealership.

The regional offices can pull an order ahead of all others for that dealer by assigning an "01" priority code. This is usually done for specialty vehicles and/or when a customer calls in to complain about an order taking too long.

Keep in mind that a higher # can be built before a lower # if the parts aren't all available for the lower #'d car.

The dealer assigns a priority code between 10 and 99. This is his priority when competing for allocations. You see, dealers don't get an endless supply of custom orders, thats why some want non-refundable deposits on some cars. If you want a car that is odd in their market, chances are he will assign it a higher priority, so he doesn't waste his higher priorities on a car you might not buy or get financed for. It is a complicated process and would take a long time to explain, but if he starts his priority at 10, your 80 may not get built, depending on dealer size and regional market. Guys who do 100 cars a week, an 80 ain't nothing to worry about, or if he starts his priorities at 60, it isn't a big deal. Talk to the sales manager about it. You should be in the 10 to 20 range unless he reserves them for his bread and butter cars. Every dealer is different

On my Vehicle Order Confirmation sheet I received from my dealer there is an order number and next to that a Priority number. My Priority is: 20.
My Order Type is: 2
Does anyone know what these numbers mean?

I don't understand the priorities at all... Mine is priority 50 but I haven't seen anyone else with that.

EDIT: Now that the threads merged I understand, thanks!

Moved your posts over. Above posts should help explain the priority codes a bit - as noted, it varies.

99 usually means an order that they haven't submitted yet....

It means your dealer doesn't think you are going to buy the car and it will be a miricle if it gets ordered.

^ ha that pretty much sums it up. Typically the lower the better, but it was said that Ford isn't accepting new orders until 9/10 so that might be why

Aren't accepting orders? I thought they were still accepting them, but they weren't going to resume production scheduling on the factory side until that date?

You can order anytime, what they are not doing is scheduling until next month.
