Hi all, so I just ordered my car on the 4th, and while looking at the my dealer's website I think I may have found it listed on their site. Is it common for dealers to list the cars they order for customers on the their websites like this?

The actual not yet delivered car with the ordered car VIN number?

Yes, it has a Vin listed already, shows it was ordered on the 10th.

It wouldn't show on the dealer's website until it has a Window Sticker which doesn't happen until it is in Production. It goes into production about 7 days or so before it is built. It also only goes on the dealer's website if it is a stock order. A retail order (meaning ordered especially for you) shouldn't be visible on their site, to my knowledge, but that might be each individual dealer's settings on their website.

Yeah that's why I was wondering if it is a common practice or something, it matches exactly what I ordered and the date fits, just trying to find out anything I can and my dealer is not being helpful :D

I don't actually know, my dealer has not told me a single thing yet.
I edited my post, when I put that VIN in Cotus it shows as ordered but not in production.

Okay I see, is it a good thing they ordered it as stock then?

I am not positive they ordered it as stock. Their site might be setup to automatically show all orders until they manually remove them from visibility. From what I understand, retail orders ship before stock orders. Stock orders supposedly have a lower priority.

If they didn't order it as retail you don't get the added perk of having the window sticker say SPECIAL ORDER and have your name in the options list.

I can live with that, all I want is the car :)
