One minor thing I'd like to be a little better is the changing of gears. Is there anything I can upgrade or do to make the gear changes a little less notchy, any upgrades?

I really like the stick shift, don't find it notchy at all? You sure there's not a problem with yours?

Mine was very notchy when I first got the car, now after 400 miles its appreciably better, main problem is me always being in the wrong gear:headbonk:

Oooh that hurts:(:)

But, until you get more experience, it's probably a good thing that you young fellas stick with the slower manuals:D:cheers:

Is there a wrong gear  OK first is for crawling so I lazily find I'm setting off in second and sixth kills it if you need to step on the gas but fourth comfortably takes you from 25 to 60 or more :)

Never driven an auto before, despite my technology background though, I prefer to be in complete control of the car, even if it means being in the wrong gear at the wrong time lol.

Simon, I have the MGW shifter to go on my car so you're welcome to try that if we e RR cross paths. Apparently it's a massive improvement.

My S197 was the same, notchy and sloppy at the same time if you know what I mean? I fitted a Steeda shifter to that and it sharpened things up but it was still notchy.

Auto? Only if i wanted to bore myself to death
Yes I agree my car is terribly boring so much so that I could leave you as a distant dot in my mirrors at my leisure with boring regularity....:headbang:

Yes and I could be a passenger in a Tesla or the Bullet Train and do the same thing, doesn't mean i'd enjoy it. Anyway, each to their own, don't want to turn this into a manual v auto debate!
