Test rode base new ‘18 lightning blue A10 GT. Had 137 mi. A little high but it drove great. No options. Drove great. And that’s fine. Not a DD and don’t care really about 301a.

Msrp 37,685. They’ll do 31500. Rock bottom. And they’re giving a good deal on my trade. More than Carman, vroom, carvana. Maybe private I could get another $1k. But it’s a PITA.

I’m in SoCal. So you’re not going to get $8k off here like you do in other parts of the country.

Any opinions appreciated.

Not many dealers are taking 8k plus off on a base auto GT. If they are giving you good trade #’s (basically over allowing on the trade) figure that is even more money off their car. Also figure the sales tax savings your getting off your trade.

I would say that's a very good deal.

My younger brother just traded his '18 Eco for a '18 base GT and got them down to $32k, which is good for this part of the country.

Thanks for the replies. Yes forgot about the sales tax savings with the trade. I thought about 3.55 and I'd regret getting them but I've driven 2 3.15 A10s now and one 3,55 A10 and the 3.15s don't feel sluggish to me at all. The 3.55 didn't feel much different except when I floored the 3.55 is kinda got confused a bit. Probably just a fluke thing but the 3.15s feel plenty quick to me even in D mode. I actually like that it holds first gear a little longer.

I have the 3.55's and love them, but I did drive a GT with the 3.15's and as you said, it didn't make some absurd amount of difference...unless I was really on it.

I guess you'd have to look at it like how often are you going to be going WOT long enough for it to matter? I can tell you if I had 3.15's, I'd be just as happy as I don't track my car at all or race it.

One final question: the drive modes button (no toggle) on the base Auto. I assume that's just for steering? It doesn't affect throttle sensitivity or anything does it?

I got my manual stock 2018 GT for just over 30k before tax & license labor day weekend. I had the sense I could have gotten 500-1000 more if I had financed with them. It sounds like a reasonable deal to me.

It sounds like a good deal to me. I paid a little over 30K for my base GT, 6 speed manual, before taxes and trades- only option is the black accent package, which came with the 19" wheels. I got a good rebate (2500) and I traded in 2 cars also- which one was a 1985 Corvette, which I had been trying to sell for 6 months without any luck other than low ball offers. They offered the highest trade for the car around, which definitely helped lure me in. The GT was also the color I wanted as my first choice.

I was debating getting black accent package. The 255 tires are probably getter suited than the skinny 235s. But it also adds weight with bigger wheels/tires......and the base wheels/look I won't obsess over. :)

Sounds like a good deal. Dealers in my area of the southeast are doing between 6-7 K off left over 18's also. So you're in the ballpark.

Yes, I liked the black accent package- mine is white with blacked out front, rear, fascia, black roof and gloss black wheels. Some are not a fan of black wheels but I am- I have them on both my GT and Fiesta ST. And even with the heavier 19" wheels the car performs and handles well. The weight is not nearly as bad as the 20" wheels I had on my Camaro RS.
