One Key, Two Key, THREE KEY???

So my car, and I'm sure everyone else's, came with 2 key fobs, 2 small hideaway keys, and one additional key that has a more traditional plastic "loop" , which i assume is for hanging on your keychain??? The manual makes no mention of this third key? Am i correct in assuming that it's just another spare emergency access key?

I was told the 3rd key was for more torque to unlock the door. So if you store it locked without power, you would find that easier to use when you go to use the car.

Dohh :frusty: Well, it does lock the glovebox! It's also the same pattern as the tiny keyfob keys, so you can use those as well....

Also, aside from the hidden access hole under the driver exterior door handle, there is an access hole on the door from the inside so you can use these keys to mechanically lock the doors in case of a dead battery. The access is somewhere near the door latch in the door...

You need to go back to your dealer and get those keys. I was fortunate enough to get all of my keys as they came from the factory, all bound together with zip ties! One of my fobs is still sealed in plastic from the factory!!!

I guess the third key is there in case you want to keep it on your key chain. It will get you into your driver door and glovebox if locked. I'm just keeping the mini key in my keyfob. I love only having the keyfob in my pocket!!!

Yes, that's called a FOB.
