I tried to install the mishimoto oil separator in my ecoboost the other day, I couldn't get it done with only a jack and jack stands so I stopped and put the car back together, however I did break the plastic disconnect holding the hose on the manifold side, I slipped it back into place and it seemed like it would stay but driving the other day, the hose came off and the service engine light came on.

After getting home, I reattached the hose and wired it secure for now until I can get to my auto shop guy tomorrow to install the oil separator, the car right now is driving perfect with the service engine light still on.

My question is can I use my code checker to delete the error code that is now fixed to get rid of the service engine light without any issues? My code checker manual warns that deleting codes will also freeze frame data and manufacture specific enhanced data and will also reset the i/m readiness monitor status.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Terry :)

Do you have a emission test coming up soon?
The computer will relearn but shouldn't be a problem.

Being in Florida there are no emission tests.

So the question remains, can I delete the error code (that has been fixed) without screwing up anything on the ECU and will it in fact make the service engine light go out?

Thanks
Terry

You won't screw up ECU and yes the light will go away unless the problem still there.
