Buy a piece of matte vinyl, trace and cut out a portion sized accordingly, cover. Removing the sticker might cause damage and the vinyl won't be obvious of it's matte and close in color. You can also peel it off at any point.
OppoLock gave me this idea. If none of the ideas thus far appeal to you, you can do what I am going to do.

Go to a local print shop that does wide-format printing. You can design an image yourself, get them to do it, or just ask for a solid block to be printed in any color you like. You may not be able to get an exact match, but you can get pretty close. Give them the size you need; and ask them to print it on Photo-text or comparable material. It is a fabric print media for wide-format; it is removable multiple times. Only time will tell if it will have any adverse effects due to heat and age, but it should be cheap enough that you can have it redone periodically.

You'll probably want to have it a little larger than needed and ask to make the final trim yourself, so that you can fine tune the fit.

I think I could use the same thread for this one.

California requires a front mounted license plate. I've seen the after market hide a mount system...very nice. I will more than likely get one of those.

Here's the issue. how do you stop the knuckle head over zealous dealers from drilling holes in you front bumper?

The last car I bought, I told the sales rep, NOT to mount the front plate holder, that it was my issue if I got a ticket for not having a front plate.

Then...they drilled and installed anyway. I was so pissed! The dealer claimed it was the LAW! that they had to do it. B.S.

I've had other dealers say fine...we won't drill!

If I hadn't already signed the doc's, I would have walked away from the purchase.
Yeah, I just make it clear up front that if it's drilled I'm not buying the car.

Luckily on my Corvettes the dealer knows and has a waiver you sign that says that even though California has a front plate requirement they did not mount it and it is the buyer's responsibility. This dealership group will not mount them unless asked on their Corvettes, GT-R's and Lotus'. Most of the other cars get them installed unless told not to before the PDI.

Interestingly enough, Chevy seems to have gotten smart about this, finally.... On my C7 they changed it so now the mount is a "quick lock" mechanism that just clasps onto the front grille. No holes or drilling and if you were to install it and remove it, nobody would ever know.

I just remove them from my Pony . I used wife's hair dryer on hi heat. and when the label was almost too hot to touch peeled it off starting from a corner. then used GooGone and buffed the cloth area to remove all traces of the glue and press mark. Can't tell it was ever there.Took less than 10 minutes. The first one I did without heat and I spent an hour or more getting the glue removed from the cloth visor, J

That's what they do with the sticker on Vettes. Someone sells them on corvette forums
