This would be helpful for everyone if anyone can provide these figures.

Safe Oil Temp Range for Revs:
Example: Friend or someone at the supermarket wants to hear the engine roar.

Safe Oil Temp Range to begin 1K-3.5K RPM Driving:
Safe Oil Temp Range for 6K RPMS:
Safe Oil Temp Range for 7K RPMS:
Safe Oil Temp Range for 8K RPMS: 191*

I begin driving when the car has reached 85*. Engine sees 55* cold starts.

I begin driving about 30 seconds after I start the car. Even if the oil temp is in the 60's. Just keep the RPMs low. The car warms up faster if you drive it slowly, plus it gives the transmission and differential fluids a chance to warm up too. It's not good for the car to let it sit idle while warming up. Plus it's a (small) waste of fuel.

My rule of thumb is:

Oil temp below 130F = Keep RPM below 3.5k.
Oil temp below 175F = Keep RPM below 6k
Oil temp above 185F = Take that shit to the moon and send it!

Cold engines run rich. Excess gas gets onto the cylinder walls and washes the oil off. Therefore letting them idle for extended periods is not advised. Get in it and drive keeping rpms as low as possible until engine oil begins to warm.

I do the same as the previous two posters. I thought the driver's manual said not to let it sit and idle also, but haven't looked it up again recently.

It can get bitterly cold here, so I'll keep it under 2k until the oil is warmed a bit. Then 3.5k until it is in normal operational (street) driving temperature range. I haven't had a chance to take this one to the track yet but would probably do similar there -- keep the car off until ready to go out, do a warm up lap, then when the oil is hot let her rip.
