Guess it depends which paid review advertisement you watch...

I suppose I just prefer the clip-on nature of the JLT vs the whole cutting tubes and mounting bracket stuff, even if it is not quite as good. Not like the engine won't run without a filter to begin with.
Actually there's some debate that the mount is better because the filter is not just hanging by the tubes putting stress on the fittings.

I preferred the mounted part, and the tests done (user tests- I believe mounted in series with one before the other and the vice versa) seem to have Bob's as collecting quite a bit more than the JLT. Same price too.

the new bracket is supposed to work with the strut tower brace.

do you have a picture or your install?
Here's the pics after install. Added pic of completed install with engine cover back on. No clearance problems and the blue/red AN fittings look professional. I agree with Bobs having a solid bracket support for the oil separator as compared to the "floating" separators I've seen with others.

I thought the oil separator was not gonna be a warranty issue?

I really love the look of the Ultimate Series from Bob. That looks awesome.

Soooooo what about the question I asked earlier?

Go Bob's. The basic model costs the same as the JLT and allegedly works better- at least as well if nothing else, you can't really lose. It takes a bit of assembly but very basic skill sets (use screw hose clamps and cut a rubber hose with a knife). I did it in 20 min in my garage with hand tools. It's a very quality piece and it has a ball valve at the bottom to drain the oil, no need to unscrew a messy oil cup like the JLT. It's is also supported by a bracket and not hanging there putting stress on the fittings. Better design imo.

Order an extra OEM hose a few posts back from Rockauto for $17 shipped (hose plus the elbow fittings at each end) and keep it just in case (depending on your dealership for warranty work) for piece of mind. It's 2 clips and a bolt to swap the OEM hose back in; about a 5 min swap out once assembled.

Bob's is also local to us in Tampa and the owner sounds awesome if you have questions or need parts. He's already offering a free redesigned bracket (and doesn't have to offer anything free really) with a slot to adjust the position instead of just a hole to help if it runs the hood liner. Sounds like great customer service since it's a smaller company.

My JLT just came in today, looks good and seems to be a high quality piece, might buy a BOB's as well and compare the two after my car comes in, I do like the plug and play nature though.

Thinking of getting a driver's side just for testing purposes but they are not making them yet it seems.
