I used the syphon tube method today, seems better than trying to constantly undo the hold down pins. Worried they may eventually break. It took seconds, and I suctioned out 1oz of oil.

Checked both JLT 3.0 catch cans after 3 month of installation and about 1500 miles driven. Passenger side had bit of oil in it but I find it's quite a lot for 1500 miles. I'd say it's ok to check twice a year. Driver side was completely dry.
