Odd question but what's your oil level on the dipstick? I check it once in a while to see if there's any oil consumption which mine thankfully doesn't have. However after looking online it seems like mine may be slightly overfilled. I had a Harrop oil cooler installed last year and it has an increased oil capacity so I wonder if that would make a difference in the oil dipstick level. I've had the oil changed twice since the oil cooler upgrade and both times it was around the same level. Once with a Ford dealer and another with a Ford performance specialist shop.

Checked when cold and have had the car sitting still for 24h, here's around where mine sits :

I think that it is meant to be between the two holes. I am unsure if in fact being a little over full is a problem.

That's just a generic warning and more about adding multiple litres of oil over capacity.

I'm more wondering about the oil dipstick level that Australian/RHD models have been filled to by a dealership/service centre and am wondering if the added oil in mine is because of the Harrop cooler as it's got an extra capacity over standard. From what I've read on the forums is that the total area of hash mark is about 1 quart of oil, which is like 950mL~, Harrop says to add an extra 800mL over stock. I've also read of some people in the 6G forums purposely overfilling their oil for their track days due to some cases of oil starvation issues and have also seen it's more common on the GM side of things for track days.

As most of this is just forum talk, old threads and mostly American based, I thought I'd make a new one and see if someone more knowledgeable could chime in if an upgraded oil cooler with added capacity would make a difference to oil dipstick readout and what's the general dipstick reading on RHD cars.

EDIT: Here's one with a similar question albeit in a commodore forum -https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/engine-oil-cooler-is-more-oil-needed.277059/

I'm not sure but I would have thought the oil level on the dipstick should read between the lines even with the extra capacity!

I have however heard of more than one instance of a FM being overfilled with oil after the FN came out with it's extra oil capacity!!
