OIL CHANGE ISSUES AND RECALL

Update on this.

Car went into fords yesterday for a software update and as part of this the car also was treated to a oil change and new filter, did not pick the car up until 6pm tonight so not had a chance to check it over properly.

Apparently my car is the first for my dealer and the first they are aware of to have the software update. When I picked the car up the service guy did not know too much and could only tell from the computer that a software update was done and it took most of the day to do. Planning a good clean and some mods this weekend so will get under the car and engine bay and have a good route around.

I did question the fact that although the oil and filter have been changed, would the car still need a service come March/April when she is 2 years old to be told yes it would still need it and the oil and filter can be checked over.

So not overly confident anything has been done on the car but will report back.

Struggle to believe a software update could take most of the day, even with an oil/filter change but it is Ford I guess. Maybe the update wasn't in stock ;)

It does not sound realistic for a software update to take all day. It would be good to know what changes & improvements the update makes. Dont suppose Ford will divulge that. Were you charged for the oil & filter change?

took me about 2hours to load the new sync unit in... Reallllllllllllllly slow processor on it. But a day, hell no lmao. hook it up to a trickle and let it go.

The car had a PCM update along with the oil and filter changed.

The dealer said that the update was carried out throughout the day and they had to keep checking it.

been out in the car the weekend and seems the same as before but with new oil and filter.

When I picked it up i said that the car will be 2 years old the end of march and so will need a service and asked weather would need the oil tnad filter changed again and yes it will - the car currently is 22 months old and done 9300 odd miles - cant see the car will have done 1000 more by the time it has a service as I also have a 2 week holiday next month!
